InterviewGo
Privacy Policy for PDF Editor AI
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Editor AI (“the App”), developed by InterviewGo (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use the App on Android.
The App is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not operate a cloud account system for this App, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. Information the App processes
Depending on how you use the App, it may process:
- PDF files and related metadata you choose to open, import, or grant folder access to (for example file name, size, last modified time, reading position, favorites). These stay on your device in app storage / your chosen folders unless you explicitly share or export them.
- App preferences such as theme, library sort options, and reading settings (stored locally with Android DataStore / Room).
- Camera images, only if you use Camera PDF and grant camera permission. Images are used to create a PDF on your device.
-
Optional remote PDF URLs, only if you open a PDF from an
https://link. The App then fetches that file over the network.
The App does not require you to create an account and does not collect advertising IDs. PDF file contents you open or edit are processed on-device. Crash diagnostic data (see section 5) may leave the device when a crash is reported.
3. On-device AI / ML features
Some features run entirely on your device:
- Smart Rename uses on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit) to suggest a file name from the first page. Document pixels used for this feature are processed locally by the App; we do not upload your PDF content to InterviewGo servers for renaming.
- Blank page detection analyzes page appearance on-device to help you remove blank pages.
Google ML Kit may download recognition model files to your device over the network when needed. That model download is handled by Google’s components on the device and is separate from uploading your PDF contents to InterviewGo.
4. Permissions
- Internet — required for the built-in PDF viewer (local WebView assets) and for opening a PDF from a URL if you choose to.
- Camera — optional; used only for Camera PDF.
- Notifications — used for library scan / background work progress where Android requires a foreground service notification.
- Storage access — the App uses Android’s Storage Access Framework (user-picked files/folders) and does not request all-files access.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your data. The App may share content only when you initiate an action, such as Share or Print, using Android system intents.
Third-party libraries used by the App (for example PDF rendering, PDF processing, and on-device ML Kit) run on your device as part of the App. Open source notices are available in the App’s Settings / About section and in the project NOTICE file.
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) in release builds to collect crash reports and related diagnostic data (for example stack traces, device model, OS version, and app version). This helps us fix stability issues. Crash reports are sent to Google’s Firebase services. The App does not include Firebase Analytics advertising measurement, does not use an advertising SDK, and does not collect advertising IDs.
If you install the App from Google Play, Google Play may also collect standard install, crash, and device diagnostics according to Google’s Privacy Policy.
6. Data retention and deletion
Library indexes, preferences, and caches remain on your device until you remove them (for example by clearing app storage or uninstalling the App). Uninstalling the App deletes the App’s private data. Files you keep in shared folders (such as Documents) remain under your control.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will help address it.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical measures appropriate for an on-device app, including disabling cloud backup of app data, denying cleartext network traffic by default, and not hardcoding secrets in the App. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
